Wayiira
Inspiration: the territory, identity, and Wayuu culture
The Wayiira collection is the deepest expression of cultural identity within Woyura. Its name refers directly to the essence of the Wayuu people and the spiritual connection that exists between the community, the territory, and weaving.
This collection is inspired by the landscapes, natural elements, and stories that form part of the collective imagination of La Guajira.
Each design represents a visual interpretation of the surroundings:
Raíces symbolizes the connection with origins and ancestral memory.
Flamingos refers to the pink birds that inhabit the lagoons of the Colombian Caribbean.
Dunas de Taroa represents the famous dunes where the desert meets the sea.
Agua reflects the contrast between the arid landscape and the vital presence of water.
Jardín de rubíes and jardín de diamantes reinterpret nature as a treasure of colors and textures.
Panal evokes the geometric structures found in nature.
Kanasú connects with traditional symbols of Wayuu design.
On a visual level, this collection incorporates gradients and color combinations that recall the tones of the sea, the sand, the sunsets, and the desert landscapes.
More than a collection, Wayiira is a visual narrative of the territory. Each backpack serves as a piece that carries with it a story, a landscape, and a part of the cultural identity of the Wayuu people.
